IN FICURIGNA

"A Ficurigna" in Italian Fico d 'India, is a succulent plant that can reach up to 5 meters in height. The stem  consists of cladodes,  commonly called "PALE", that is large and robust succulents, belonging to the family of cactaceae, which grouping form branches. Typical of the summer months, the fruits of the prickly pear are ovoid berries with the surface covered with small thorns that protect a pulp with a unique and unmistakable sweet taste. Both the skin and the pulp of the fruit vary in color from yellow to blood red. The fruit is juicy and rich in seeds, however there are many uses that are made of it, they are dried, they are preserved, jams and juices.

Holiday home "A Ficurigna" is a dream made by Samuel and Giovanna for the love they have for their land: Sicily. The idea of the name comes from the desire to keep alive the memory of many prickly pears planted by their great-grandfather on the land adjacent to the structure, on which their home was built.

Holiday home "A Ficurigna" is located in Marsala, the extreme point of western Sicily, located near the suggestive and sensual Nature Reserve  oriented islands  delle Stagnone, a small and important microcosm where the waters are warm, shallow and placid, very popular with families with children. But not only that, it is in fact the most coveted kitesurfing destination for kiters from all over Italy and all of Europe.

It is difficult to find in other parts of the world, sunsets like those that are painted in these areas, it will be thanks to the mills, the salt pyramids that sprout dazzlingly among the pink waters of the Lagoon, or the brushstrokes of colors ranging from orange to deep purple?

If you admire all this while sipping a good glass of "Marsala" wine, you will make it an unforgettable trip
